Titans Earn 3rd Place Finish at FTA Invitational with Win Over T.L. Hanna
Florence, SC- The Trinity Collegiate girls' tennis team capped off an impressive weekend with a hard-fought victory over SCHSL 5A opponent T.L. Hanna on Sunday, August 17, clinching 3rd place at the FTA Girls' High School Invitational. The Titans finished the tournament with a strong 3–1 overall record, showcasing both depth and determination.
Against the Hornets, the Titans struck early with singles wins from Chandler Hyman (#1 singles) Mahaley Swink (#2 singles). In doubles play, Riley Flowers and Morgan Coker (#2 doubles) delivered a clutch victory to keep Trinity in contention. With the match tied at 3–3, the spotlight shifted to the #1 doubles team of Swink and Hyman, who rose to the occasion once again. The duo battled through high-pressure points to secure the decisive win and seal the match for the Titans.
The weekend performance highlighted Trinity's depth across the lineup and their ability to deliver in pressure moments, setting the tone for the season ahead.
The Titans will now take a short break before opening region play on the road against Wilson Hall on Wednesday, September 3, at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter.
