Wolverines Too Strong For Titans
Darlington, SC- The Trinity Collegiate Titans were unable to recover from a big fourth inning as East Clarendon pulled away for a 16-0 win in JV baseball on Tuesday.
East Clarendon broke through in the third inning, taking advantage of an error to open the scoring before delivering the decisive blow in the fourth. A 12-run outburst put the game out of reach, with East Clarendon stringing together timely hits and capitalizing on multiple defensive miscues.
Caleb Saleeby got the start on the mound for the Titans, working 3.2 innings while allowing 10 runs (two earned) on five hits. He struck out one and walked one. East Clarendon's starter kept the Titans off the scoreboard across four innings, scattering five hits while striking out three.
Saleeby also led the way offensively for Trinity Collegiate, going 2-for-2 at the plate. He added two stolen bases as part of an aggressive effort on the basepaths. The Titans totaled four stolen bases in the game.
East Clarendon was led offensively by Koy Wright, who drove in three runs as part of a 2-for-3 performance. The visitors showed patience at the plate, drawing six walks, and matched the Titans with four stolen bases. They also turned a double play defensively.
Trinity Collegiate will look to bounce back quickly as they host East Clarendon again on Thursday.
