After a scoreless start, Trinity Collegiate broke through in the top of the third inning with a pair of sacrifice flies. Brody Phillips brought home the first run, helping the Titans take an early lead.
Cheraw answered in the bottom half of the inning, stringing together a single, a sacrifice fly, and capitalizing on a wild pitch to move ahead 3-2.
The Titans quickly responded in the top of the fourth, reclaiming the lead for good. Copeland delivered an RBI single, and Phillips added another sacrifice fly to put Trinity Collegiate in front 4-3. From there, the Titans continued to build separation, finishing with nine runs on 10 hits.
Phillips led the team with three RBIs, while Davidson Lynch added two hits in four at bats as part of a balanced offensive effort.
On the mound, Drew Cockrell went the distance to earn the win. The right-hander allowed nine hits and five runs, only two earned, over seven innings, while striking out four and walking two.
Cheraw totaled nine hits in the contest, with multiple players recording multi-hit games, but Trinity Collegiate's timely hitting and steady pitching proved to be the difference.
