Titans Take Care of Spartans in Three Innings
Darlington, SC – Trinity Collegiate put together an explosive offensive performance on Monday, rolling to a 17-0 victory over Camden Military, in a game shortened by three innings, behind a huge day at the plate from Garrison Copeland.
Copeland led the charge with five RBIs on three hits, delivering the biggest swing of the game in the third inning with a bases-clearing triple down the left field line. He also added an RBI single earlier in the contest as part of a dominant showing.
The Titans wasted no time setting the tone, erupting for seven runs in the bottom of the first inning. Davidson Lynch opened the scoring with an RBI single, while a Camden Military error brought in two more runs. Jaylen Clark followed with a bases-loaded walk, and Tucker Mount capped the inning with a three-run double to give Trinity a commanding early lead.
Trinity continued to pour it on in the second inning, adding six more runs on four hits. Miller Buchanan highlighted the inning with a two-run single, Clark added an RBI single, and Copeland chipped in another run-scoring hit. The Titans' patience at the plate was evident throughout, as they worked seven walks in the game.
The offensive surge continued into the third inning when Copeland's triple drove in four runs, extending the lead to 17-0 and putting the game well out of reach.
On the mound, Ross Meadows delivered a strong outing, earning the win with three shutout innings. He allowed just one hit while striking out four and walking none in a clean and efficient performance.
At the plate, Trinity tallied 10 hits, with Lynch and Buchanan each collecting multiple hits. The Titans also remained aggressive on the bases, with Lynch and Copeland each stealing multiple bases as part of a seven-steal effort.
Defensively, Trinity was just as sharp, playing error-free baseball. Buchanan led the way in the field with six chances, helping anchor a clean defensive performance.
With the win, Trinity will look to carry its momentum into its next matchup as the Titans host Carvers Bay on Tuesday to close out the pre-spring break portion of the schedule. First pitch is set for 7 PM.
