Bio

Colin Renner is a dynamic and results-driven athletic administrator and coach with more than a decade of experience across high school, collegiate, and international athletics. Now in his sixth year at Trinity Collegiate School, Renner serves as Associate Athletic Director and Head Varsity Boys’ Lacrosse Coach.

Since joining Trinity in 2020, Renner has helped elevate the school’s athletic profile; contributing to an athletic department ranked fifth in South Carolina by USA Today for the 2024–2025 school year. During his tenure, Titan teams have captured 12 state championships and 7 runner-up finishes. He also spent five years overseeing the college recruiting process for the football program, during which time Trinity student-athletes garnered offers from over 70 four-year schools.

On the field, Renner is a proven coach and strategist. As an assistant coach for the football team, including serving as Defensive Coordinator from 2022-2025, he helped guide the program to playoff appearances in each of his seasons, including a SCISA 3A/4A state finalist run in 2021 and semifinalist finish in 2022. Across 2024 and 2025, the Titans produced the best back-to-back statistical seasons defensively in school history, holding 17 of 22 opponents under their scoring average and sutting out twenty percent of regular season opponents. Renner also mentored the top three leading tacklers in school history, Walker Willcox, James Herbert, and Mac Burch. Serving as special teams coordinator from 2020-2025, his units produced 31 blocked kicks and 15 touchdowns in six seasons, and in 2021 as an offensive assistant he helped oversee an offense ranked 17th nationally in rushing yards among more than 14,000 high schools.

In 2025, Renner took the reins as Head Varsity Boys’ Lacrosse Coach, stepping in during preseason to lead a second-year program. He quickly improved the team’s competitiveness and culture through focused player development and strategic planning. He directed the team to their first shutout win and first home win in program history. Previously, he also served as Head Varsity Boys’ and Girls’ Track & Field Coach, helping train multiple state champions, medalists, and record-setters.

Renner’s diverse career includes coaching and teaching positions with the professional Lazio Ducks American Football Team in Rome, Italy (2020, Offensive Coordinator), Lake Placid High School in Florida (2019, Offensive Coordinator), Franklin & Marshall College (2018-2019, Tight Ends & Wide Receivers), Southwest Florida Christian Academy (2017-2018, Running Backs), and his alma mater, McDaniel College (2015-2017, H-Backs). Renner has worked with championship programs, developed record-setting offenses and defenses, and recruited award-winning athletes at every level.

A native of Maryland and graduate of the McDonogh School (MD) and McDaniel College, where he earned a B.A. in History, Renner is passionate about fostering student-athlete growth on and off the field. He is committed to building athletic programs that emphasize both competitive excellence and personal development.
